Programmable Security Timer

Programmable 24-hour security timer for wall light

This programmable security timer replaces any standard wall light switch and can handle up to 24 settings per day. The random setting turns the light on and off at assorted intervals, or the user can program the unit at specified times. The 15-minute memory guard protects against power failure. Not compatible with compact fluorescent bulbs.

		Would not buy again

Timer used for patio lighting. It requires sensitive handling of the dial mking programming a tedious chore. Has lasted only about a year. Just went "dead" for no apparent reason; no power outage, etc.

We installed one of these switches in our own home, after my parents put on in their house. I sometimes wonder if our is defective, as we are constantly having to reset it because the lights on our front porch that it controls will come on at random times, like in the middle of the day. We used to think it was the little hands in our house "helping" us out, but we've determined now that this isn't the problem -- it's the switch. We are considering replacing it with the new digital switch from Honeywell.

Controlls outdoor fountain water pump and outdoor fountain lighting. Using two seperate switches I can turn the fountain water pump on during daytime and evening hours then seperately controll when the fountain lighting comes on and goes off. Gives a nice display and also saves energy by turning off when not needed.

The most significant advantage of the product is that it is used with a standard electrical outlet cover plate (none of the competing products do this any longer). If you don't want to deal with replacing the electrical box, this is the only alternative and it works well for what it is designed to do as a timer.

I would agree with several others in that this is a very good timer. I agree that it can be tricky to program - I have found that pulling out as you turn the dial makes it easier to avoid inadvertently marking a time on the dial that you do not want. Have a number of these in the house and highly recommend.

I have programmed this multiple times. It will not hold. Very difficult to use and I'm about to trash it. Waste of time trying to get it to work.

This would be a great product if one could program it. Programming this device is tedious and unsuccessful. The AM/PM letters on the dial are impossible to read. I uninstalled and trashed it. I really wish I could have used it!

I use EJ351 for several outdoor lights: a lighthouse and stairways. I was disapointed yesterday (03/10/10 to discover that my local hardware store no longer stocks this Intermatic timer! I will keep searching for suppliers. As ever...Leonardo

I have tried to program this according to the instructions without any luck. I also have had 4 other guys try without any luck. The lights will come on if you turn them on but no luck setting the timer. This is the second one I bought, thinking I may have screwed up the first one.
