Every item that uses energy created from fossil fuels such as oil or coal to operate produces carbon emissions. Destination Lighting has calculated the average amount of carbon emissions that each of our lighting fixtures releases into the atmosphere on a yearly basis. We call this the "Annual Carbon Footprint" and it is measured in metric tons (MT). According to our partner TerraPass, the term "carbon footprint" is named after carbon dioxide, which is believed to be the principal cause of global warming.

Here's a lamp you can stare at for hours, if you're into that sort of thing. Gooey blobs of red waxy "lava" change shape as they move about their purple liquid environment. The base and top of the lava lamp have an attractive silver-colored finish that won't distract the eye from what's really important, the aforementioned gooey blobs.
